Acts 2 was the destination of choice for Christians from all around South Florida on Saturday 18th October, 2008. In an auditorium filled with people from different ethnicities, denominations and backgrounds, the people clamored to the “Made for More Conference”, which was themed, “Someone’s Got To Hear From G-O-D”. This day created quite a buzz and blast off for a new revolutionary group called the ‘B.R.I.N.G. The Fire’ Movement. Invited to the conference, Quincy Rolle founder of B.R.I.N.G. the Fire gave a brief, yet, informative presentation on what God is doing in the lives of bloggers on the Internet.
“One day this generation is gonna rule the population,” Mr. Rolle stated. As the packed to capacity crowd anticipated what he would say next, Mr. Rolle added that “We are not waiting on the world to change, we are making the change happen!” While blogging is one of the new forms of communication, Quincy spoke on the importance of blogging for this generation and those to come. “Blogging can really save a friend’s life.” He states.
Quincy gave the audience a scenario to help further understand the impact of sharing our life’s experiences. He shared, “If you went to the beach and were attacked by a shark and later on, a friend tells you that he or she is going to the same beach, what would you do? Do you forewarn them of the shark that you were attacked by or do you keep silent and let your friend take a risk?”
As human beings, who always tend to protect ourselves and keep our harsh circumstances hidden, we don’t feel the need to share what we are going through. When in reality there is someone out there, or thousands for that matter going through the same thing. So by blogging, we give lost souls a sense hope. A hope that can very well change their life because they have found someone else that is going through what they are going through. As a result of this, we give the Holy Spirit a chance to intervene and do His work by ministering to a person’s needs wherever they are located.
BTF Bloggers follow a pattern portrayed by King David in the Bible. The book of Psalms is very uplifting. It’s enlightening to see how a man by the name of David who was a king, poured his heart out to God with such transparency. So because he did, we have hope to know that we can do the same and God will still love us. Finally, BTF is hoping and believing that the same God of yesterday, today and forever, who delivered David everytime will deliver us as well.
